Cristhiaan Ochoa is a board-certified Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine physician with faculty appointments at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, North Texas Health Science Center, and Texas Christian University medical schools – All in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. With over 20 peer-reviewed publications and two patents, he is passionate about medical research, med-tech development, and innovation.
At VIC, he leverages his clinical and scientific expertise as a senior fellow heading our Medical Advisory Board and contributing to our opportunity assessment team efforts. In addition, Dr. Ochoa functions as the Chief Medical Officer for Nob Hill Therapeutics, Inc – a VIC portfolio company focused on creating effective inhalation therapies to address lower respiratory tract infections and other deadly lung diseases.
Dr. Ochoa holds an M.D. from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and a Ph.D. from the University of South Alabama Center for Lung Biology. He completed his postgraduate training at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, Parkland Memorial Hospital, and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Ochoa has been a PI/Co-PI of grants awarded by The National Institutes of Health, the American Heart Association, and the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas. Cristhiaan is also a U.S. Air Force Reserve medical officer as part of the Critical Care Air Transport Team at Travis AFB.
